For founders at the moment before commitment

You know the idea.
You've been carrying it for months.

Before is built for that moment — before you commit, before you're all-in, before it's too late to look at it clearly.

You're not stuck because you don't have an idea. You're stuck because you've been sitting on one for months — and something keeps stopping you from fully committing.

It's not fear of failure. It's something more specific: the quiet suspicion that you might be missing something important. That you're too close to it to see it clearly. That committing on instinct alone might cost you more than you can afford to lose.

That moment — right before commitment — is exactly what Before is built for.

What Before is

A structured, AI-powered decision system — run by a human, personalised to your situation.

I run the intake, interpret the evaluation, and write the verdict. The system ensures nothing important is missed. You do not get a chatbot. You get a structured process with a human judgment at the centre of it.

The evaluation covers everything a serious founder should examine before making a major commitment. A new business. A pivot. A significant investment of time or money. It is adaptive — the same idea scores differently for different founders, because the evaluation shifts based on your capital, your exit goal, your real capacity, and your market.

Whatever the verdict — Go, Conditional, or Not Ready — you receive the reasoning and a clear path forward.

Go Conditional Not Ready

Every verdict includes the reasoning behind it and next steps — not a judgement, a diagnosis.

If the verdict is Not Ready: you receive a written breakdown of exactly what isn't there yet — and what would need to change for it to be. A Not Ready verdict is not a door closing. It is a map of what is missing.

How it works

No calls. No forms. No obligation to proceed.

One outcome, told honestly

A woman came to me with a business idea she had been sitting on for two years. A specific idea, in a field she cared about deeply. She had done research. She had thought about it constantly. But she hadn't moved.

When I asked her why, she said she wasn't sure if the idea was as strong as she hoped — or if she just wanted it to be.

We ran it through Before. The evaluation confirmed the core idea was sound. It also surfaced one thing she had been avoiding looking at: the question of who she was really serving. Her original framing would have sent her to the wrong market — and she would have discovered that six months and several thousand euros in.

Two years of sitting on it. One session to see it clearly. The following week, she started executing.

"I didn't just get an answer — I finally felt like someone had actually looked at it."

Who this is for

Founders with a specific idea, seriously considering committing, who want to examine it properly before they do.

Not for people browsing for ideas with no particular direction. Not a business plan service. Not coaching.
If that's you, you're already most of the way there — you just need two sentences and an email.

Who runs Before

Saulius — Founder, Before

I used to run businesses on instinct, relationships, and a calculator. I thought that was how it worked. It wasn't — but I didn't know what was missing until much later.

After leaving Lithuania, I spent twenty years across the UK, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Norway — watching how decisions get made under pressure. Trading floors, professional kitchens, corporate boardrooms. The pattern was always the same: the outcomes that worked had a rigorous process before commitment. The ones that didn't were running on instinct, emotion, and hope.

When I decided to start a new business, I went looking for something to help me evaluate the idea properly before committing. I didn't find it. Nothing affordable, nothing personalised, nothing that worked with my specific situation rather than giving generic advice to everyone.

So I built it. I called it Before. I built it because I needed it twenty years ago — and it didn't exist.
